This is a fun way to get to know each other that’s been going around the blog-o-sphere:
A. Attached or Single? Attached. Happily married since 1996.
B. Best Friend? I have best friends in different areas of my life, but my husband is my best friend through thick and thin.
C. Cake or pie? I’ve only recently started eating pie, and although hot apple pie with vanilla ice cream is amazing, Cake will always be #1 for me.
D. Day of choice? I work Monday through Thursday (10 hour days), so Friday is extra awesome, the start to a three day weekend every week and during the school year it’s a special day for my toddler and me to have adventures together.
E. Essential Item? Sparkletech running skirt. I don’t know how anyone else (including men) run in anything else.

F. Favorite color? Purple. All shades, but I’m liking a heathery purple right now.
G. Gummy bears or worms? Gummy bears. Although red and orange sour patch kids blow them out of the water. My poor husband gets stuck with the orange and green ones at the movies.
H. Home town?
Jacksonville, FL. I grew up on the west-side (otherwise known as the best side).
I. Favorite Indulgence? Dove dark chocolate. I have a couple of miniatures every night before bed.
J. January or July? July if I’m able to spend it at the beach or in the mountains. Otherwise, I think summer in Florida is miserable and will take January over July.
K. Kids? Two. I’ve got a fourteen year old son who loves Minecraft and is great at school and a two year old son who loves to be active and is my wild child. We would have loved to have had three, but miscarriages and a ruptured ectopic pregnancy meant that we are lucky to have been able to complete our family with two.
L. Life isn’t complete without?
Friends, family and adventures.
M. Marriage date? December 19.
N. Number of brothers/sisters? I have one brother who we lost too soon to a motorcycle accident more than a decade ago.
O. Oranges or Apples? Apples if I can dip them in Smuckers Natural Peanut Butter. Clementines are pretty awesome too.
P. Phobias? Fish flopping on dry land, clowns, closet doors that are cracked open, roaches, failure, injury that would keep me from running
Q. Quotes? “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” – Antoine de Saint-Exupery and “Love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction.” – Antoine de Saint-Exupery (yes The Little Prince is my favorite book)
R. Reasons to smile?
My family, thunderstorms, PRs, nature, paying off debt, seeing the scale go down and buying smaller sizes, finding new friends, runDisney magic, Space Mountain!
S. Season of choice? Fall
T. Tag 5 People. Nope, just going to encourage everyone who reads this to play along on your own blog OR in my comments!
U. Unknown fact about me? I’m ridiculously open, so this is hard. OK, I’ve got one. I really really really enjoy shooting guns. I don’t get to do it often, but it is a huge rush to target shoot, especially with targets that are breakable objects like bottles and old nick-nacks. And I cannot whistle. At all.
V. Vegetable? I’m getting there. I used to avoid most of them but have added broccoli, zucchini, squash, spinach and salad to my regular rotation.
W. Worst habit? Avoiding conflict. I’m getting a little better at this, but it’s way out of my comfort zone.
X. Xray or Ultrasound? Ultrasound, even though it provides bad news sometimes, I always prefer to know one way or the other instead of being uncertain.
Y. Your favorite food? This is a hard one. Cupcakes are pretty awesome. Pizza with carrots and garlic. A really good corn chowder or spicy chicken soup. Fresh Mayport boiled shrimp with hot sauce.
Z. Zodiac sign? Sagittarius – I love adventure, the outdoors and tend to be a bit too open and blunt. Sounds about right to me…
So, that’s me from A to Z. I’d love it if you’d play along on your own blog (feel free to link it in a comment below) or right in the comments. All A-Z or any of them that strike your fancy.
