Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival 2015

We enjoyed the most beautiful day at the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival yesterday.  I’ll admit that I’m pretty beat after a whirlwind weekend at Walt Disney World Resort, but it was well worth it!

We were staying at the Dolphin, so we came into Epcot through the International Gateway.  These topiaries are the first things we saw, and it was great to enjoy them without any crowds.

IMG_0497I always love a Winne the Pooh topiary!

IMG_0499And these two were Eli’s favorites!

IMG_0508IMG_0513As we made our way toward the front of the park (and our FP+ for Spaceship Earth!), we found the festival’s Monsters University themed playground.  It was absolutely wonderful and Eli was so lucky that we were the first guests to play in it yesterday so he had the whole place to himself for a while!  The playground is worth its own post (stay tuned) so I’ll just share the topiary that’s located inside the playground for now.

IMG_0546_2I really loved the small gardens with specialty themes like the local gardening, mood gardens and the butterfly garden.

IMG_0646The Fantasia set of topiaries was gorgeous and full of whimsy.

Towards the park entrance we found farmer Mickey and Minnie.

And the classic princesses weren’t forgotten either!

IMG_0789 IMG_0790_2 IMG_0800For us, there’s no point in just viewing these works of art if you don’t have a little of fun with them.  Here Eli and I recreate that famous scene from the Lion King!

    • It is amazing. Both the imagination and the ability to actually create them!

  1. So the topiaries aren’t there year-round? I’ve only been for PHM last year and this year, and I thought they were just part of the normal scenery. 🙂

    • Nope! I think the brief stay makes them even more special! Kind of like the Osborne lights!

    • Thanks! It’s definitely worth a trip. A little lower key than the Food and Wine festival but still a lot of fun!

    • I’m so glad you enjoyed my photos! It was so much fun to take them and I can’t wait to go back in a little over a month to capture how they bloom!

  2. It looks like it was a beautiful day and the topiaries are wonderful. We’ve stayed at Dolphin before and I loved coming in the “back entrance” to Epcot! I also liked it because it’s so easy to hop over to Epcot to eat!

    • It really was a wonderful day! It is so convenient to stay at the Swan and Dolphin. I usually don’t even wait for the boats, I love being able to just walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios and the BoardWalk!

    • I already want to head back and we’ve barely been gone 24 hours! Only about five weeks until I get to go back and find all the topiaries and displays we missed! I hope you have a wonderful trip!

    • It’s worth a trip! It’s fun to wander around to spot all the different displays. And they have great food and drink stands too!

    • I hope you have an amazing visit and get perfect weather!

    • Thanks! It was a lot of fun and it turned out better than I thought it was going to!

    • Thanks! I do think the flat green faces are a little weird!

  3. It all looks so gorgeous! I think this would be my favorite time to visit WDW.
It’s official, April: I am jealous of all you’ve been able to do this year. And it’s not even the middle of March! Do you ever just pinch yourself?

    • You are so sweet! I can get really focused on what I don’t get to do and I don’t always take the time to step back and actually appreciate all the amazing things I do get to do! Your comment really made me reflect on all the amazing adventures we get to take! Thanks!!

  5. I was at Disney World last week. I loved all the topiaries. Such incredible works of art! Snow White and the dwarves were fabulous, and being a Cars fan, I loved Mater and Lightning McQueen. I took soooo many photos! It was great.

    • It is just so gorgeous and such a fun, lower key festival! I missed out on Mater but I’m heading back next month and hope to see them then!
