We discovered the new Harambe Market at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on our last visit and I just fell in love with the atmosphere and all the details that the Imagineers worked into the area.
We were enjoying the morning Extra Magic Hours a couple of weeks ago and stumbled onto this area when we were leaving Kilimanjaro Safaris. It’s located in Africa and definitely meets a need for more “themed” quick service dining at Animal Kingdom. We didn’t get a chance to eat there (we had a need for some Yak & Yeti!) on this trip but we’ll definitely give it a try on our next visit.
According to Disney’s website, this area was inspired by the street food of Africa and offers four different dining options situated around an open air dining area filled with eclectic furniture. Here are some of the delicious sounding choices:
The red sangria and watermelon lemonade both sound refreshing and sausages fried in curried corn batter are on my must try list too! My favorite thing about this new dining location is the theme. As usual, Disney makes it feel like you’ve walked out of Central Florida and into another place and time.
Although we didn’t get to eat here on this trip, I really enjoyed wandering around before it even opened to find the clever and imagination-inspiring tidbits of storytelling sprinkled around the marketplace.
For the first time in forever I’m joining up with run.geek.run…(Disney) for the Magical Mickey linkup. Need some Disney in your day? Make sure to hop over and check it out!
