Harambe Market at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

We discovered the new Harambe Market at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on our last visit and I just fell in love with the atmosphere and all the details that the Imagineers worked into the area.

Harambe MarketWe were enjoying the morning Extra Magic Hours a couple of weeks ago and stumbled onto this area when we were leaving Kilimanjaro Safaris.  It’s located in Africa and definitely meets a need for more “themed” quick service dining at Animal Kingdom.  We didn’t get a chance to eat there (we had a need for some Yak & Yeti!) on this trip but we’ll definitely give it a try on our next visit.

IMG_3514According to Disney’s website, this area was inspired by the street food of Africa and offers four different dining options situated around an open air dining area filled with eclectic furniture.  Here are some of the delicious sounding choices:

IMG_3515 IMG_3512 IMG_3511The red sangria and watermelon lemonade both sound refreshing and sausages fried in curried corn batter are on my must try list too!  My favorite thing about this new dining location is the theme.  As usual, Disney makes it feel like you’ve walked out of Central Florida and into another place and time.

IMG_3524Although we didn’t get to eat here on this trip, I really enjoyed wandering around before it even opened to find the clever and imagination-inspiring tidbits of storytelling sprinkled around the marketplace.

IMG_3723Have you visited the Harambe Marketplace yet?  What food or drink should I make sure not to miss next time?

For the first time in forever I’m joining up with run.geek.run…(Disney) for the Magical Mickey linkup.  Need some Disney in your day?  Make sure to hop over and check it out!

    • It’s gorgeous isn’t it?!? I don’t think we’ve ever eaten in Dinoland. We’re just such huge Y&Y fans it’s hard to go anywhere else.

    • Unless we squeeze in a trip before Halloween, it will be Wine & Dine before we make it back too!

    • Animal Kingdom is my second favorite park! I love the mix of rides and trails/exhibits to explore. And…tigers!! 🙂

    • I wish we’d found the time (and stomach room) to stop by while we were there. Next time for sure!
