Continuing on with my local adventures series, today I’m sharing photos of Kanapaha Botanical Gardens. This a a wonderful Gainesville treasure which is about a 20 minute drive from my house. We try to keep annual passes so we can just stop by whenever the weather looks great and we want to spend some time outdoors. There are a number of themed gardens to wander through. The bamboo garden is one of my favorites.
I love this vine/branch thing for photos. Here’s one of my elusive older son along with Eli. The children’s garden has some fun features for kids to explore. Eli loves watching the koi and the waterfalls. I love all the whimsical features like the windchimes and hidden (and not so hidden) dragons.
Another Eli favorite is the little maze/labyrinth. It’s only ankle high so it’s not very challenging and there are no dead ends, it’s more of a meditation path. Eli uses it as a race course. It’s so cute when a handful of kids are racing each other through the labyrinth. Fun bridges are scattered around the grounds.
And just gorgeous things to explore around every corner.
