Devil’s Millhopper – Nature Walk & Sinkhole

In my continued local adventures series, I’m sharing some photos of the Devil’s Millhopper, which is a State Park just about four miles from my house.  We love to visit this park to get a lovely walk in and to see how the water levels in the sinkhole change. You pay at an “iron ranger” when you pull into the parking lot by putting the money in an envelope and displaying the attached little tag … Continue reading

Wordless Wednesday: This Is Really Good!

For today’s Wordless Wednesday linkup with Focused on the Magic, the topic is This Is Really Good!  If you know how much I love Walt Disney World, you know that I have a lot of “This Is Really Good!” moments.  Here are just a few of them: The mini-kitchen sink from Beaches & Cream. TotR: Where I Run (in pictures)

For today’s Tuesdays on the Run,  My No-Guilt Life, Erika from MCM Mama Runs and I want to share photos of where we run!  And we can’t wait to see your running scenery.  I have three main running areas.  The first is the neighborhood where I live.  It’s super convenient, is fairly shaded, especially early in the day, and has low traffic.  On the downside, there are occasionally neighborhood dogs wandering around who have escaped … Continue reading

Stormalong Bay Pool at Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club

After our last trip, I decided I really wanted my family to get to enjoy Stormalong Bay pool, so I did some research … Continue reading

Today’s Friday Five linkup today with Cynthia at You Signed Up for What, Mar at Mar on the Run and Courtney at Eat Pray Run DC is about Five Fitness Trends I’ll (probably) Never Try.  I’ll never really say never, but there are a few things that I don’t see myself trying anytime soon! CrossFit.  I’m sure it’s crazy effective and that there are plenty of CrossFit gyms that break the stereotype, but I just … Continue reading

La Chua Trail at Alachua Sink

I’m dedicating the next few Thursdays to featuring my local nature adventures.  Last week was the new Sweetwater Wetlands Park.  This week, we head back to Paynes Prairie to the La Chua Trail.  This trail is a little wilder and absolutely gorgeous.   From the parking lot, there’s a quarter mile walk where you go under (or over if you’re Eli!) an old railway trestle.  The underpass/overpass was built back when Gainesville was a railway hub … Continue reading
